The process in the image below shows Demeter in action, identifying lemon rees in California. In this case our AI algorithm differentiated lemon trees from other tree plantations, using satellite data as input.
Case study: Canopy gaps on a Eucalyptus plantation
Our Demeter AI system also lowers costs for many forestry related tasks. One example is the detection of gaps in canopy cover.
Gaps in forests are a huge issue for commercial forests in remote areas, because it is difficult to spot and correct. In this example, our Demeter AI was able to detect gaps in an Eucalyptus plantation in Uruguay.
